The electromagnetic flow sensor uses Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction to linearly transform the instantaneous flow signal into an induced electromotive force electrical signal, thereby obtaining the instantaneous flow signal. The calculator integrates the flow signal with the temperature signal collected by the temperature sensor to obtain the energy value we need.

In the heat exchange system, the electromagnetic heat meter is mainly used to measure the heat released by the heat transfer medium. This type of heat meter mainly relies on high-precision electromagnetic flow meters for medium flow measurement, and integrates high-precision platinum resistors in the electromagnetic heat meter to measure the temperature of the heat transfer medium. Therefore, the electromagnetic heat meter has higher measurement performance. Nowadays, integrated electromagnetic heat meters are the most common electromagnetic heat meters in the market, with high measurement progress, greatly improved application reliability and stability. However, compared to ultrasonic heat meters and mechanical heat meters, this type of heat meter is more expensive.

Installation requirements for electromagnetic heat meters

Installation location selection

In order to ensure the reliable and stable operation of the flowmeter, the following requirements should be noted when selecting the installation location:

a. Try to avoid magnetic objects and devices with strong electromagnetic fields (such as large motors, transformers, etc.) as much as possible to prevent the magnetic field from affecting the working magnetic field and flow signal of the sensor

b. It should be installed in a dry and ventilated place as much as possible, and should not be installed in damp or water prone areas

c. Try to avoid direct sunlight and rain, and avoid environments with temperatures above 60 ℃ and relative humidity greater than 95%

d. Choose a place that is easy to maintain and has convenient activities

e. The flowmeter should be installed at the rear end of the water pump and must not be installed on the suction side; The valve should be installed on the downstream side of the flow rate

Selection of pipeline installation location

In order to ensure the reliable and stable operation of the flowmeter, the following requirements should be noted when selecting the pipeline installation location:;

a. Sensors can be installed on vertical, horizontal, or inclined pipelines, but require the centerline of the two electrodes to be in a horizontal state

b. When the electromagnetic flowmeter is working, it is always required to fill the measuring tube with the measured medium. When installing horizontally, in order to ensure this, the elevation of the sensor installation position may be slightly lower than the elevation of the pipeline if necessary

c. The installation of the flowmeter needs to meet the requirements of the front and rear straight pipe sections. In conventional situations, the front section of the flowmeter inlet should be reserved with 10DN, and the rear section of the flowmeter outlet should be reserved with 5DN.
