Manufacturer of intelligent liquid vortex street flowmeter

Vortex flowmeter is mainly used to measure the volumetric flow rate of gases, vapors or liquids in various pipelines. It is a new type of flow instrument commonly used in industrial control, energy metering and energy-saving management, and is widely used in industrial production, energy metering, environmental protection, transportation and other fields.

Manufacturer of intelligent liquid vortex street flowmeter

The basic structure of a structured vortex flowmeter includes:

Vortex generator: usually triangular or prismatic, used to disturb fluids and generate vortex streets.

Sensor probe: a device used to detect vortex frequency, such as piezoelectric or capacitive sensors.

Flow measurement pipeline: Install vortex generator and probe in it, and the fluid flows through this part.

Signal processing unit: Convert the signals collected by the probe into flow velocity or flow data.

The LUB series vortex flowmeter is suitable for measuring the following fluids:

Gases: such as air, nitrogen, natural gas, etc.

Liquids: such as water, oil, etc.

Steam: such as saturated steam and superheated steam.

Working principle of liquid vortex flowmeter

The working principle of vortex flowmeter is based on the Karman vortex phenomenon. When a non streamlined column is vertically inserted into a fluid as a vortex generator, if the Reynolds number reaches a certain value, two columns of vortices alternately appearing up and down will be generated downstream of the column. These vortices are arranged neatly and turn in opposite directions, forming what is known as a ‘vortex street’. The frequency of the vortex street is directly proportional to the flow velocity of the fluid. By measuring the frequency of the vortex, the flow velocity of the fluid can be calculated, and then the flow rate of the fluid can be calculated.

The working principle of liquid vortex flowmeter can be summarized as follows:

  1. Vortex generator: The main component of a vortex flowmeter is the vortex generator, which includes a sensor with a fixed shape and a pair of symmetrical spiral blades on the sensor.
When a fluid passes through a vortex flowmeter, the kinetic energy of the fluid causes the blades to produce periodic vortex shedding.
The frequency of vortex shedding is directly proportional to the velocity of the fluid.
  2. Piezoelectric sensor: The vortex flowmeter is also equipped with a piezoelectric sensor, which is used to measure the vortex shedding frequency and convert it into a corresponding voltage signal.
When the vortex falls off, the piezoelectric sensor will be affected by the vortex and produce small vibrations.
This vibration is converted into an electrical signal and output after a series of processing.
  3. Signal processing and display: The output electrical signal is further processed by a signal processor to convert the frequency signal into a standard flow signal, which is then amplified and filtered.
Ultimately, the obtained traffic signal will be displayed on the monitor and can be recorded and transmitted through other devices.
The working principle of vortex flowmeter is based on the generation and detection of vortices.
When the fluid passes through the vortex flowmeter, the kinetic energy of the fluid causes the blades to produce vortex shedding.
These vortices form periodic pressure changes on the blades, which can be detected and converted into electrical signals through sensors.
By measuring the changes in vortex frequency, the velocity and flow rate of the fluid can be calculated.
Vortex flowmeter has many advantages, which make it widely used in the industrial field.
Vortex flowmeter has high accuracy and reliability.
Its measurement accuracy can reach 0.5%~1%, suitable for accurate measurement of flow rate under various process conditions.
The response speed of vortex flowmeter is fast, and it can monitor changes in fluid flow rate in real time.
The vortex flowmeter has a simple structure, easy maintenance, and is suitable for measuring various liquids and gases.
In addition to measuring flow rate, vortex flowmeters can also derive other related functions.
For example, by measuring the frequency and amplitude of vortex shedding, the density and temperature of the fluid can be measured.
Vortex flow meters can also be combined with other sensors to achieve fluid distribution and regulation functions, in order to meet the flow requirements of different industrial applications.
Vortex flowmeter is a flow measurement instrument based on vortex effect.
It achieves measurement of fluid flow rate through the generation and detection of vortices, and has advantages such as high accuracy, fast response speed, and simple structure.
In various industrial fields, vortex flowmeters are widely used and can derive other related functions to meet the needs of different applications.
The working principle of liquid vortex flowmeter can be summarized as follows

Installation conditions for liquid vortex flowmeter

  1. The sensor should be installed on a horizontal, vertical, and inclined (liquid flow from bottom to top) pipeline with the same diameter as it. The upstream and downstream of the sensor should be equipped with a certain length of straight pipe section, which should meet the requirements of 15-20D for the front straight pipe section and 5-1OD for the rear straight pipe section.
  2. The pipeline near the installation of the liquid sensor should be filled with the measured liquid.
  3. Sensors should be avoided from being installed on pipelines with strong mechanical vibrations.
  4. The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should be as consistent as possible with the sensor diameter. If it cannot be consistent, a pipe slightly larger than the sensor diameter should be used, with an error of ≤ 3% and not exceeding 5mm.
Sensors should be avoided from being installed in places with strong electromagnetic field interference, small space, and inconvenient maintenance.
