manufacturer of Submersible electromagnetic flowmeter

The submersible electromagnetic flow sensor and L-mag type electromagnetic flow converter are used to continuously measure the volume flow of various conductive liquids or liquid-solid two-phase media in open channels, culverts, or pipelines. The measurement accuracy is not affected by changes in physical parameters such as temperature, pressure, viscosity, density (including liquid-solid ratio) of the measured medium. As long as the conductivity of the measured medium is greater than 20 μ S/cm, the instrument measurement is not affected by changes in conductivity.

Suitable for measuring open channels, underground channels, and river channels. Suitable for channels of circular, rectangular, trapezoidal, and other shapes. The measurement is not affected by changes in river water rise, tides, downstream water levels, etc. The requirements for the upstream and downstream straight channel sections are low, and the installation requirements are also low. It can be slightly modified on the original channel. Short construction period and low installation and construction costs.

Working principle of submersible electromagnetic flowmeter

According to Faraday’s principle of electromagnetic induction, a pair of detection electrodes are installed on the tube wall perpendicular to the axis of the measuring tube and the magnetic field lines. When the conductive liquid moves along the axis of the measuring tube, it cuts the magnetic field lines and generates an induced potential. This induced potential is detected by the two detection electrodes, and the value is proportional to the flow rate. Its value is:
E=KBVD

In the formula:
E – Induced potential;
K – coefficient related to magnetic field distribution and axial length;
B – Magnetic induction intensity;
V – average flow velocity of conductive liquid;
D – electrode spacing; (Measuring the inner diameter of the tube)

The sensor uses the induced potential E as a flow signal, which is transmitted to the converter. After amplification, transformation, filtering, and a series of digital processing, the instantaneous and cumulative flow rates are displayed on a backlit dot matrix LCD. The converter has 4-20mA output, alarm output and frequency output, and is equipped with communication interfaces such as RS-485, and supports HART and MODBUS protocols.

Characteristics of submersible electromagnetic flowmeter products

  1. The submersible flowmeter has a simple structure and no movable parts. This flowmeter has strong resistance to pollution, blockage, or corrosion, making it suitable for use in fluids containing suspended solids or adhesives.
  2. The submersible flowmeter sensor can also be conveniently installed on any gate of the existing water channel. Water channels can be submerged or underground channels, and their cross-sections can be rectangular or circular.
  3. Submersible flow meters have a wide measurement coverage range, ranging from 0-0.3 to 0-10m/sec. It is possible to measure larger flow rates under the same water head by installing a dummy sensor with the same physical dimensions parallel to the original sensor.
  4. The flow signal of the submersible flowmeter is linear, so it has high measurement accuracy even when the flow rate drops from 100% to 0. Even if the canal is affected by tides, stable measurements can still be taken
  5. Submersible flow meters are suitable for measuring underwater, underground channels, and river channels. They are suitable for measuring circular, rectangular, trapezoidal, and other shapes of channels, and are not affected by rising river water, tides, or changes in downstream water levels.
  6. The submersible flowmeter adopts a simulated sensor (diversion model) to expand the flow measurement range.
